Service System Engineering

We create your system design for you. A good system design is essential for a highperformance and secure system. It is crucial for an efficient development phase and for the later maintenance and expansion of the system.

A poor system design is the common cause of failure in development projects. We identify the most critical parameters early on with you and develop a design for a basic architecture accordingly. Based on this foundation, subsequent system decisions are made step by step.

Our early involvement is enabled by our blend of methodological and domain expertise, along with the application of proven patterns. As a result, you receive, among other things, a functional and physical architecture. All interfaces are clearly identified, functions defined, and allocated.

We employ derivation methods implemented in SysML and efficient signal flow analyses in Simulink. Combined with requirements engineering methods, this creates an efficient mix for a timely architecture specification available to your development team. Fulfilment of safety goals is proven with an initial FMEA and FTA.

Our team is certified in all common aspects of system architecture, SysML, and functional safety.

Service Requirements Engineering

The success of any project is heavily dependent on exact requirements. Requirements are the initial impulse for all development efforts and define the target agreements for any specific project. Starting with requirements elicitation, analysis, exact formulation and subsequent continuous, monitoring we increase development productivity and eliminate waste of valuable resources. In the context of our requirements engineering service, we offer operational engineering as well as management consultation in form of:

  • Introduction and training on Requirements Engineering 

  • Setting up requirements engineering processes 

  • Requirements elicitation and analysis

  • Requirement documentation (e.g. in Doors ™ or Polarion™)

  • Support on requirements management

  • Management of interconnectivity to related disciplines (hard- and software development, testing, …)

As professional requirement engineers we are certified and work after the standard of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB).

Functional Safety and Reliability

We support you in fulfilling relevant functional safety norms like IEC-61508, ISO-26262, EN-50128.

With over 15+ years of experience in functional safety and with our hands on approach and background of architecture and specification patterns we create your safety architecture, as well as the functional and technical safety specification. We support you in an efficient and early creation of a FMEA, FTA and FMEDA analysis.

Finally, together with you, we support in internal and external safety assessments to prove compliance to the relevant standards.

Quality and Processes

We are specialists for the application of the V-model and its integration with functional safety and other related disciplines, like model based engineering and formal methods. During the years we worked in the context of IEC-61508, ISO-26262, EN-50128, ASPICE.
For clients new in this area, we offer definition and introduction of the related processes and methodologies.

For experienced teams already applying processes, we optimize workflows based on a consulting project or as results from lessons learned after participating in a development project.

Our results were demonstrated successfully in various internal and external assessments and audits. What makes us unique is the hands on experience on all engineering levels of the V-model (from Customer- down to the Hardware- and Software-level), as well as supporting processes like config management, product release, verification, quality assurance, change management and project management.
