Success story 'Puma Tank Control Handle'

For the control handle of a German tank, we lead the development team to perform all engineering activities efficiently and within budget. Utilizing our project management expertise (PMI) and strong engineering background, we reviewed the development process based on IEC 61508, and derived a comprehensive project plan.

Guided by this plan, we oversaw and monitored all development activities, from system engineering down to software design, and up again to software and overall system testing, following the V-model. The project had a high focus on predictability based on an earned value analysis. A root cause and corrective action analysis was performed to constantly improve the projects efficiency.

As a result, the project could successfully deliver the control handle for the final vehicle integration.

Succes story 'Battery Management System'

An existing High Voltage Battery Management System (BMS) had to be extended to meet new customer requirements and finally also fulfil functional safety.

The main challenge was that the current implementation was already exceeding the available resources. The quality of the existing specifications was not sufficient to perform a change analysis, in order to identify work packages for the software team.

Our analysis showed that the root causes were insufficient requirement and architecture specifications, and a system design that could not handle the product’s complexity.

Within 12 months, we created an efficient functional architecture and developed a new system requirements specification and functional breakdown.

Based on the architecture and requirements, an independent software team was able to develop a new software in a short time. Together with the end customer, we successfully integrated the software on-site into the vehicle.

The developed specification and software did not only lead to a project success, but also serve as a sustainable basis for upcoming customers and projects.
